With a history that goes back to the 13th century, the University of Genova in Italy currently has 11 faculties with 1700 professors and researchers and 40000 students.

The Faculty of Engineering offers degree programs in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. The Measurement Laboratory, a section of the PMAR Lab (Laboratory of Design and Measurement for Automation and Robotics), carries out research activities regarding general measurement theory and methods, with applications in several metrological and industrial fields. Areas of expertise are measurement in support of decisions – software for metrology, measurement of perceived quantities – soft metrology, processing tools in measurement, and measurement for quality.
