The Hermann-Rietschel-Institute at the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) is the oldest and most renowned department for HVAC engineering in Germany since its foundation more than 120 years ago. The institute has excellent facilities and equipment for research work in the areas of thermal comfort, indoor air quality and advanced heating, cooling and ventilation technologies. In addition to the experimental facilities the institute covers a wide range of different simulation applications starting from building physics models to three dimensional fluid flow simulations in large enclosures. The Hermann-Rietschel-Institute is involved in teaching and supervising engineering and architectural students in area of heating and air conditioning.
